Stage I. Solution Specification
The Solution Specification stage provides a detailed requirements specification for the identified business goal.
Stage II. Systems Architecture
The Systems Architecture stage supplies the organization with concrete architecture, languages, software packages, hardware platforms and a logical data model.
Stage III. Software Design
During the Software Design stage, customized software modules, interfaces and a physical data model are developed for the organization.
Stage IV. Software Build
The Software Build stage involves coding, unit testing, integration testing and the creation of documentation.
Stage V. Testing
The Testing stage measures functionality, regression, compatibility and performance. The results of the testing stage are fully documented, with outputs cross-referenced to the original plan. Corrective action taken due to test results is also clearly documented.
Stage VI. User Acceptance Testing
The User Acceptance stage includes User Acceptance Test Plan/Cases and User Acceptance Test execution and support.
Stage VII. Deployment
The Deployment stage is critical and must be carefully planned. It includes the creation of administrative and operational documentation and the elevation of the solution to production.
